The Dark Archer hard enamel pin was created to help spread mental health awareness. This design represents the struggle and the strength of coping each day, living with a mental illness that is often stigmatized and misunderstood. The struggle and the process can be unique to the one suffering.
Sometimes artists give visual forms to issues, ideas and conflicts they deal with. I see my mental illness artistically as a night stag, wandering the forest of my consciousness. A dark figure, part of who I am, but lordly and a prince of my domain dictating rule and law, often in opposition to what I want and need. Still, I have to find a way to live with it, endure it, so it will return to its forest wanderings, leaving me a survivor in the woods of my own soul.
