The Service Animal hard enamel pin was created to help spread awareness. A service animal is a type of assistance dog, trained to help people with a variety of disabilities, or health issues to include mental disorders such as post traumatic stress, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Sometimes artists give visual forms to issues, ideas and conflicts they deal with. I see my mental illness artistically as a night stag, wandering the forest of my consciousness. A dark figure, part of who I am, but lordly and a prince of my domain dictating rule and law, often in opposition to what I want and need. Still, I have to find a way to live with it, endure it, so it will return to its forest wanderings, leaving me a survivor in the woods of my own soul.
