Lanterns in the Darkness hard enamel pin was created to help spread awareness. When going through a mental illness it’s hard to remember there are others who are suffering from the same thing. There are people who want to comfort, resources you can use, and other lights out in the darkness that can help you cope and survive what you are going through. There are lights in the Forest of Dark Antlers, you are not alone.

Sometimes artists give visual forms to issues, ideas and conflicts they deal with. I see my mental illness artistically as a night stag, wandering the forest of my consciousness. A dark figure, part of who I am, but lordly and a prince of my domain dictating rule and law, often in opposition to what I want and need. Still, I have to find a way to live with it, endure it, so it will return to its forest wanderings, leaving me a survivor in the woods of my own soul.
