The Lantern Nisse hard enamel pin is a creature of Scandinavia folklore and myth. He features a red hat w/rosemaling, white beard, and a small lit lantern. He is also known as a Tomte or Gnome. He is often associated with the Christmas season and is considered the Scandinavian version of Santa Claus. If you leave a bowl of porridge out for the Nisse they will be most happy, but don’t forget their favorite part, a small tab of butter on top of the food.
